Booking choice: The Marietas safari from Punta de Mita, from $154 per person. Check dates Tour details
The Marietas are a federal national park, and federal parks in Mexico charge a fee set by law. Some tours fold it into the price, some collect it at the pier, and some quote a separate Hidden Beach bracelet that confuses everyone.
Here is what the official sources say as of 23 October 2026, with links, and how to tell which kind of tour you have booked.
The quick answer
CONANP charges 125 pesos per person per day to enter the Islas Marietas National Park. Children under 12, seniors, pensioners and people with disabilities are exempt; students and teachers get 75% off, Mexicans and foreign residents 50%. You can buy the one-day Brazalete de la Conservación online or pay through your operator. Check whether your tour includes it, and carry pesos in cash.
How much is the Islas Marietas park fee in 2026?
125 pesos per person, per day, paid to the federal government. It covers the national park, the Hidden Beach included.
CONANP's page for the park gives the fee as "$125 MXN por persona, por día, por concepto de cobro de derechos". The legal basis is Article 198 of the Ley Federal de Derechos, the federal fees law, which places the Islas Marietas among the parks of medium carrying capacity. The amounts in that law are updated for inflation each year, and CONANP's page shows the current figure as 125 pesos.
A reform in force from 1 January 2025 raised fees across Mexico's federal parks, many of them roughly doubling, and boat operators in Quintana Roo have been lobbying to reverse it. Nothing had changed for the Marietas as of 23 October 2026. The latest reform of the law was published in the DOF on 7 November 2025.

Who is exempt from the Marietas park fee, and who pays less?
Children under 12, seniors, pensioners, retirees and people with disabilities pay nothing. Students and teachers pay a quarter, Mexican nationals and foreign residents half.
The discounts need proof. CONANP asks for a valid credential or official document, shown once you are in the park: a student or teacher card, an INAPAM card for Mexican seniors, a residency card for foreign residents. Without it you pay the full fee. Tourists on a visitor permit pay the full 125 pesos.
A child under 12 rides free of the fee, but that does not get them into the Hidden Beach. Most operators set the swim at 10 and over. See the Marietas with kids before you book a family day.
| Visitor | Fee per day | Proof |
|---|---|---|
| Foreign tourist | 125 pesos | None |
| Mexican national | 50% off | Official ID |
| Foreign resident in Mexico | 50% off | Residency card |
| Student or teacher | 75% off | Valid credential |
| Child under 12 | Exempt | Age |
| Senior, pensioner or retiree | Exempt | Credential |
| Person with a disability | Exempt | Credential |
What is the Brazalete de la Conservación?
CONANP's one-day pass for a single protected area. You buy it online or at the park, and the Islas Marietas are on the list.
The bracelet and passport page describes the brazalete as a personal "One-day pass to visit a PA", sold digitally for 29 parks including the Islas Marietas, Cabo Pulmo and Isla Contoy. You create an account on the CONANP site, fill in the form and download it. The park page sells it under the line "¡Asegura tu entrada!".
For most visitors it is optional. If your tour already includes the park fee, buying the bracelet as well means paying twice. It makes sense if your operator asks you to pay the fee yourself, or if you want it sorted before the day. Frequent visitors can look at the year-long Pasaporte de la Conservación, which covers every federal park except Revillagigedo.
What is the Hidden Beach bracelet some tours charge for?
A charge some operators quote for Hidden Beach access. CONANP publishes one fee for the whole park, 125 pesos, and no separate Hidden Beach price.
The listing for the Hidden Beach tour from Nuevo Vallarta includes the line "$220 pesos Government tax for the hidden beach access bracelet per guest" in its inclusions, without saying whether the amount is in the price or paid on the day. We found no official source for a 220-peso Hidden Beach charge. The landing itself is limited by permit and by the daily cap of 116, not by a second ticket.
The wording does not say what the amount above 125 pesos pays for. Before you go, message the operator and ask two things: is it already included, and is it cash at the pier? The answer goes in your booking chat, which is the record if anything is disputed later.

From Punta de Mita, with port tax, the park fee and a hidden beach entrance listed in the price. Ten guests at most.

On the tours we cover, the two Punta de Mita trips by Marieta Tours list the park fee as included. The others either quote the bracelet or leave it to the operator.
Read the inclusions line by line. "Port tax" and "park fee" are two different charges, and some tours list one without the other. The private boat lists both but puts the Playa del Amor admission among the extras, so treat that one as an extra cost unless the operator confirms otherwise.
| Tour | Park fee | Hidden Beach |
|---|---|---|
| Marietas safari, Punta de Mita | Port tax and park fee included | "Hidden beach entrance" listed |
| Private snorkeling safari | Port and park taxes included | Admission listed as an extra |
| Hidden Beach tour, Nuevo Vallarta | Bracelet wording, ask | Included, tide permitting |
| Snorkel, kayak and Playa Nopalera | Ask the operator | No, Playa La Nopalera |

The shortest crossing, with the park fee in the price and groups of ten at most.
Check dates for the Marietas safari from Punta de MitaDo you pay the Marietas park fee in cash?
Bring pesos in cash. If the fee is not in your tour price, expect to pay it on the day, and do not count on a card machine at the pier.
The Punta de Mita safari listing tells guests to bring cash even though the park fee is in its price. Small notes help: 125 pesos per person is awkward to change on a boat. If you have bought the Brazalete de la Conservación online, keep the download on your phone, and a screenshot in case there is no signal at the dock.
One fee, one day. A second Marietas trip on another day means paying again. Our guide on which Marietas tour to choose shows the from-prices side by side.
